Twitter expands fact-checking tool Birdwatch to fight misinformation-01

Twitter Inc. has announced that some of its users will begin to see notes under their posts from the public for sharing questionable information.

The program began last year as part of a program called “Birdwatch,” although during the trial phase it was made available only to 10,000 users in the U.S.

Instead of asking an external auditing firm to review the post, Birdwatch asks other users to check the information for its reliability, and, if it seems necessary, mark the post and explain why in the notes.
