M&S claims ‘renewed competitiveness’ following profit boost

Marks & Spencer’s clothing and housing division has brought “significant” improvements to profits during the first six months of the financial year, following the “renewal” of its model.

This has contributed to the development of the business as a whole, which returned to profits after reporting a loss of £ 87.6m over the same period last year. The seller submitted the pre-tax profit of £ 187.3m, nearly £ 30m more than the £ 158.8m two years ago, before the impact of the epidemic.
