Bluesky, a decentralized social network initiated by former Twitter Inc. CEO Jack Dorsey, has entered beta testing.
Users can now download Bluesky Social directly from Apple’s app store, but they must sign up for a private beta in order to access the network if they haven’t already. The last time the team mentioned Bluesky was in October, when it announced that the social network application was nearing its official release date.
Using the AT Protocol, the social network can operate multiple nodes in a manner similar to how email servers operate in a network, as opposed to how large centralized platforms such as Twitter and Facebook operate.
