Meta planning additional layoffs as part of its efficiency drive

In an effort to increase efficiency, Meta Platforms Inc. is reportedly planning additional layoffs for March after terminating roughly 11,000 workers in November. According to Financial Times sources who were privy to the situation, Meta has put off finalizing the budgets for several teams in order to avoid the proposed cuts.

There is a claim that the delays have created a “mess,” with managers unable to plan out future workloads due to a lack of clarity, which has resulted in “zero work” being completed. According to the Meta insiders, projects and decisions that used to be approved in a matter of days are now taking months, even in highly important fields like advertising and the metaverse.

As a result of the ongoing uncertainty, Meta employees are allegedly demotivated and demoralized.
