TikTok has recently announced a number of changes in its default privacy settings for young users. This is as part of the on-going development to implement an augmented system to protect the vulnerable members in the platform.
As noted by the company, one significant change is that the accounts created by users of age 13-15 will be set to ‘Private’ by default. Certainly, users below 13 are officially not allowed to ‘Sign-up’ for a TikTok account.
TikTok also explains, “We want our younger users to be able to make informed choices about what and with whom they choose to share, which includes whether they want to open their account to public views.”
