Twitter accused of legal violations during job cuts

Following Elon Musk’s acquisition of the business last year, Twitter Inc. has been sued for allegedly firing contract workers without authorization.

This is the latest development resulting from the social media giant’s significant job cuts. According to the proposed class action lawsuit, which was filed in federal court in San Francisco, Twitter fired numerous employees of the staffing company TEKsystems Inc. in November without providing the 60 days’ notice mandated by U.S. and California law.

Twitter is being sued in five additional cases in the same court for allegedly breaking these laws, discriminating against disabled employees, and picking out female employees for layoffs. Twitter has disputed the accusations.
