Substack releases a platform that looks a lot like Twitter

Substack Inc. has introduced Notes, a platform where Substack creators can interact with subscribers in a manner resembling Twitter. There are only linguistic differences.

Users post notes rather than tweets. A restack exists, but there is no such thing as a retweet. The rest of the interface resembles a Twitter clone, with one side panel containing links to the Inbox, notifications, and Notes, and the other panel on the far side containing recommendations for creators to follow. The news feed is in the middle pane.

When there was a loss of functionality on any tweet that contained a link to Substack last week, Elon Musk was accused of attempting to prevent the creators of Substack from earning a living.
