Roku Predicts Increased Second-quarter Revenue as Ad Expenditure Improves

Roku Inc. predicts that its second-quarter revenue may increase and boost business as it witnesses a broader shift in its ad expenditure, which improved by 4%. The company’s ad-supported streaming platform has gained popularity with users after they tried cutting down their flexible spending. Roku added 1.6 million new “active accounts” in the reported quarter from the fourth quarter. The company aims to be profitable by 2024 and forecasts current-quarter revenue of about $770 million.
