RingCentral acquires Hopin’s flagship digital event platform

RingCentral Inc. revealed that it has acquired the flagship Events platform from startup Hopin Ltd., which is used by businesses to host virtual and hybrid events. Additionally, the startup’s second product, Session, is being purchased by RingCentral.

It’s a cloud-based platform for holding small-scale online events like webinars and virtual breakout sessions. The collaboration software provider RingCentral is based in Belmont, California, and is publicly traded. RingCentral Video, a platform for video conferences, is the company’s main offering.

Additionally, the business offers software for conference room equipment, a platform for hosting webinars, and a variety of other tools, including an online fax service.
