Over the past few days, Google has been under an unprecedented and destructive spam attack on its search results. Several domains are displaying rankings for hundreds of thousands of keywords each, suggesting that the attack’s scope may easily extend to millions of keyword combinations.
There are at least three windows of opportunity that the spam sites seem to be exploiting as part of Google’s algorithm for ranking websites.
Although spammers have long taken advantage of these opportunities, they haven’t done so to the same extent as of late.
