LinkedIn users have been posting makeshift carousel posts for some time, using its PDF attachment option to create individual frames. The tools have been updated to include a new “Carousel” post option as LinkedIn has opted to turn it into a full-fledged functionality.
In order to “empower creators to share knowledge in a more visual way,” LinkedIn said it is now testing the new functionality. According to LinkedIn, the company is initially trying Carousels with “thousands of creators” before making the feature available to all users later this fall.
The ability to attach PDFs to LinkedIn updates was implemented back in 2019. Once attached, the PDF becomes a multi-frame preview deck that viewers may swipe through in-stream.
