Instagram has recently announced a huge step designed to safeguard users – by ensuring that the platform influencers should disclose commercial partnerships in their posts. This is followed by the recent probe of the UK Competition and Markets Authority.
Not only in the UK, but many other countries are also making it mandate to tag commercial arrangements with the help of #ad or #sponsored. However, the authority has found that influencers are not following this.
Hence, Instagram has vowed to improve its action on the sponsored posts – to avoid legal action. It is planning to add a new prompt for influencers and also developing algorithms to identify advertising content.
