Instagram has recently announced that it is making modifications to its features of Reels. The company is focussed on enhancing its editing tools to maximize the demand for the short-form video feature. These changes have been introduced in response to the user feedback and will continue updating.
Basically, Instagram is looking to shift Reels more in-line with the TikTok’s process. Reels will now have the option for longer clips, up to 30 seconds. Earlier it is limited to only 15-seconds. Furthermore, video creators will now be able to extend the timer by 10 seconds while recording the clips.

Reportedly, Reels could become a preferred option with time, even if TikTok continues its operation in the US and others.
