Google Adds Latest Fact Check Labels to the Google Image Search Results

As the digital platforms continue to seek different methods to limit the spread of
misinformation, Google has recently confirmed that it’s adding new fact check markers to the Google Image search results, to ensure that the searchers are aware of what each image represents.

Now, when people search on Google Images, they will find an option of “Fact Check” label
under the thumbnail image results. Once tapped on these results to view the image in an
expanded format, one can also find a summary of the fact check that appears on the underlying web page.

Google’s fact check labels have been added by independent, authoritative sources online via Google’s Claim Review process for search results.
