Bodo and Xilinx Collaborate To Bring Python Simplicity to Large-Scale Media Processing

Bodo Inc. has announced a partnership with Xilinx Inc., which includes Xilinx investment in Bodo, to further develop similar computer technologies that will make it easier to access the most effective media processing in FPGA-enabled clusters.

The movement is designed to benefit media workflow developers who, for the first time, will be able to write simple Python code but have reached the highest levels of similar performance found in FPGA collections. The technology builds on the recently announced Bodo-style HPC modeling technology that utilizes standard-purpose CPUs and clusters to achieve a maximum of 10,000 cores.

The collaboration to develop Bodo technology will allow media developers using Xilinx to develop in familiar languages like Python, yet take advantage of Bodo’s highly portable parallel computing architecture to simplify scaling, orchestrating and optimizing for underlying compute hardware efficiencies.
