Reddit is the latest social media network to create a creator fund in the hopes of increasing interest and activity within the app through the backing of popular creators and projects.
Reddit has undertaken a number of microfinance initiatives to assist certain communities and organisations. Reddit has launched an official 1 million USD Community Fund, which will fund a variety of projects. “Through the pilot, Reddit supported 13 projects selected by communities,” Reddit stated in an announcement.
Previously completed projects include a comics competition, a community-designed musical artist billboard in Times Square, and a digital history conference.”
