Microsoft is deploying a new advertising identity verification program to combat digital payment fraud and online fraud. The company dubs this as an attempt to safeguard searchers, publishers, and advertisers in real time from emerging dangers and attack vectors. Microsoft has taken attempts to simplify and automate the identity verification process.
Advertisers will complete the procedure with government-issued, photo-enabled personal identity documents or business-related documents provided by suitable regulatory agencies. Microsoft Advertising will send an email to one or more user accounts requesting advertiser identification verification.
Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, India, Netherlands, Poland, Mexico, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Ukraine, the United Kingdom, and the United States are the countries that will have access to the program.
