Meta has announced the debut of the WhatsApp Cloud API at its first-ever ‘Conversations’ messaging conference, which would provide free, secure cloud hosting services for enterprises.
The WhatsApp Cloud API will essentially house the conversation data on Meta’s servers, improving connection and speed but with certain privacy trade-offs. New notifications on consumer-to-business trades made through Meta hosting will be available on WhatsApp.
Recurring Notifications on Messenger has also been introduced by Meta, which will allow businesses to re-engage people within a message thread. At the moment, the feature is only available to premium users.
