Facebook has announced that its social VR platform Horizon is now moving into closed beta. Horizon is a sandbox creation tool for social VR, where users can interact and engage with the virtual environment.
The social network has been trying Horizon with an early group of creators, and will start bringing some people from the waitlist into Horizon’s invite-only beta in the coming weeks. Horizon is more about the social aspect, and getting users accustomed to engaging in digital worlds.
The platform can soon also become a tool for workplace collaboration where co-workers will be able to interact from remote working conditions. The main aim of the social VR platform is to create meaningful connections between people.
