Sevco Security Strengthens Leadership Team With Hiring Of Brian Contos As Chief Strategy Officer

Sevco Security, the cloud-native CAASM platform that delivers the industry’s most accurate, continuously updated IT asset inventory, today announced the appointment of Brian Contos as chief strategy officer. The strategic hire expands Sevco Security’s world-class leadership team, which includes Carbon Black and Cylance founders. As chief strategy officer, Brian will work closely with customers and partners to understand their requirements and collaborate with Sevco’s product and go-to-market teams to help ensure the company meets them.

“Few industry leaders possess the deep, proven experience as a practitioner, entrepreneur, and thought leader as Brian,” said J.J. Guy, CEO and co-founder, Sevco Security. “Not only has he helped build some of the most successful and disruptive cybersecurity companies in the world, but he also truly understands the foundational challenges of CIOs and CISOs. He is an important addition to our team, and I look forward to working closely with him to ensure our customers’ success.”

Brian brings over 25 years of security industry experience to Sevco, including past roles as CISO at Verodin (acquired by Mandiant), Chief Security Strategist at Imperva, and CISO at ArcSight. He has also been a board advisor for companies like Cylance, JASK, and Phosphorus Cybersecurity. He began his infosec career with the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and later Bell Labs. With two IPOs and eight acquisitions, Brian has helped to build some of the most successful security companies in the world. Brian was also featured in the cyberwar documentary “5 Eyes,” and he is the author of “Enemy at the Water Cooler” and a co-author of “Physical & Logical Security Convergence.”

“Because asset intelligence is so fundamental, it tops nearly every CxO’s agenda and every regulatory mandate,” said Brian Contos. “Despite this, what’s kept organizations secure for the last 20 years is no longer working. It needs a disruptive approach. Sevco Security fundamentally changes how organizations get value from their existing security and IT operations investments by having the most accurate and timely asset intelligence. I can’t think of a better opportunity than joining this incredible team to help customers realize this value across IT, security, and compliance.”

Sevco Security provides a modern approach to asset intelligence that strengthens an organization’s security posture and IT processes by automatically aggregating all inventory sources to provide a complete, accurate, and real-time view of its asset inventory.
