Peru’s Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) has awarded Plintron Peru SAC the concession to provide mobile public services as a virtual mobile operator/OMV.

Subhashree Radhakrishnan, vice president and co-founder of the Plintron Group, said: “Plintron’s entry into Peru’s dynamic mobile services market will benefit all stakeholders, including MNOs, MVNOs, enterprises and IoT/M2M service providers. the Peruvian MVNO market to grow to over 400 million suns by 2027″

Internationally, companies from different segments are adding mobile services to their proposal to generate more revenue and increase their customer base. The business segments in which MVNOs are launched globally include ISP, retail, Fintech, sports, IoT, insurance, utilities, etc.

Brands often struggle to launch MVNO/OMV services due to huge CAPEX, as well as technical, operational and regulatory challenges. However, Plintron solves these problems by offering a pre-integrated platform with the network operator, fast time to market and competitive wholesale prices.

Plintron offers a plug-and-play implementation for OSS, BSS, NSS, 200+ flexible APIs, payment gateway integrations, and a white-label self-service mobile app. Technological development and updates are handled by Plintron. Brands just need to focus on sales and marketing to their current and new users.

Plintron’s operating model can help launch branded mobile services with several advantages such as additional revenue streams, better brand visibility, increased customer loyalty and improved data, as well as ensuring regulatory compliance. The Plintron model is an economically very attractive proposition for the MVNO as it requires zero CAPEX, and brands pay only for the actual OPEX incurred in providing the services.

With commercial launch planned for December 2022, Plintron will allow any brand to launch an MVNO within six to eight weeks. Even during the pre-launch phase, more than 15 companies in Peru have already shown interest in launching an MVNO. Plintron intends to strengthen its presence in Latin America with its operations in Mexico, Peru , Colombia and Chile.
