EG Group selects PDI to introduce contactless payments to its North American sites

PDI Company ( www.pdisoftware.com ), a global provider of enterprise software solutions to convenience stores and petroleum product distributors, has announced that it has entered into an agreement with the EG Group to expand the use of PDI payments to nearly 1,700 locations across North America.

PDI added payment capabilities to its cloud marketing solutions offering last year following the acquisition of ZipLine , the industry leader for ACH payments and a provider of mobile payment technology. PDI’s payments platform currently powers EG Group’s SmartPay Rewards. The rewards program originates from Cumberland Farms, one of several US-based convenience store brands that EG Group has acquired in recent years, and will soon be rolled out to remaining EG Group stores across North America.

Customers can download the free app and enjoy the contactless payment experience, whether shopping in store or at the pump. PDI will provide the technology to support customer membership in SmartPay and provide ongoing customer service to members of the rewards program. The program also allows its members to save 10 cents on every gallon of gasoline they purchase and earn other rewards.

“We have seen significant consumer adoption at the sites where we have implemented our SmartPay program,” said Mohsin Issa, Founder and Co-CEO of EG Group. “We are delighted to expand our partnership with PDI so that we can quickly provide this valuable service to an even larger segment of our loyal customer base. ”

Today’s announcement is the latest example of the growing business relationship between EG Group and PDI. PDI previously announced that the UK-based convenience store will implement its PRE, fuel pricing, and logistics solutions at thousands of locations in Europe, North America and Australia.

“We are proud to be a trusted partner in EG Group’s strategy for continued growth and development,” said Jimmy Frangis, CEO of PDI. “Payments are such an integral part of creating a convenient, digitally-driven journey for customers. We are delighted to support a respected global brand like EG Group as they deliver differentiated customer experiences at the pump and in store.
