Over the past couple of years, Zoom has sought to expand beyond its core meeting service by entering markets like contact centres, sales intelligence, and phone while also developing its meeting platform in areas like white boarding.
At its Zoomtopia customer conference, the company revealed the beta of email and calendar software, further advancing that notion. CEO and company founder Eric Yuan is aware that some people spend a lot of time on Zoom, and he wants to give them all the tools necessary to do so without switching tasks.
A hosted email and calendar are also being announced by the company. It will have features like end-to-end encryption and the ability to create a special customer domain, among others.
