YouTube shifts Brandcast to TV convergence-01

YouTube will host its Brandcast presentation during its first TV launch, breaking the tradition of using annual speech to advertisers as part of Interactive Advertising Bureau’s (IAB) NewFronts, according to the blog.

YouTube will co-host NewFronts ‘conversation with MediaLink in the creators’ economy, launching its launch program this week. Locations not invited.

YouTube said its decision to move Brandcast to the top was made possible by a remarkable combination of TV and broadcast. The split approach suggests that the company sees its connected TV business (CTV) as an ample opportunity to secure an independent show that can compete with asset networks.
