YouTube is planning to introduce a short form video-sharing feature by the end of 2020, reports The Information. This is to compete with the viral social media platform, TikTok. The new feature will be called ‘Shorts’ and will be placed as feed inside the YouTube mobile app.

With the feature, users can make use of the platform’s library of licensed songs and music. It can be assumed that it is going to be a mimic of the TikTok concept. The best part is – people will not have to download another app, and video creator will already have their existing subscribers.

When YouTube was asked to confirm the same, a spokesperson mentioned, “We don’t comment on rumors or speculation.”
