YouTube Introduces New Tools to Detect and Block Copyright Violations During the Upload Process

YouTube is introducing new features to allow users more control over copyright violations in uploads and the detection of suspected IP infringements within the app.

YouTube is adding a new component to the copyright claim process, allowing creators to check a box when reporting a copyright violation to ‘Prevent copies of these videos appearing on YouTube going forward’ in the detection/removal options.

Furthermore, YouTube states that its Copyright Match Tool, which was previously only available to YouTube Partner Program creators, will now be available to “any creator that issues a valid takedown request”
