YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki Resigns, Replaced by SVP Neal Mohan

YouTube’s CEO Susan Wojcicki is stepping down, and YouTube SVP Neal Mohan will replace her at the helm of the application.

Wojcicki joined Google as one of its first workers and later rose through the ranks to hold a number of executive positions throughout the company. According to Wojcicki, she and Sundar Pichai, CEO of Alphabet, decided to take on an advisory role for both Google and Alphabet in the long run.

Due to the popularity of social media, particularly TikTok, which it has been attempting to compete with through its short-form video platform Shorts, YouTube has come under pressure in recent years.
