WhatsApp has recently announced its next step towards maximizing the e-commerce potential within the messaging app. For business chats, it has added a new, dedicated shopping button in order to streamline transaction and purchase activities. With time, it is expected to normalize the shopping behavior among people.

As mentioned by WhatsApp – “Now you can easily discover something you’d like to buy from your favorite business by tapping on the new shopping button at the top of chats.”

This is similar to the existing ‘Shop’ feature on Instagram and Facebook and will help with an in-app product listing feature. Users can select products of their choice and make a purchase.
