WhatsApp Introduces Encryption to Chat Backups_ Closing a Security Gap

Facebook aims to enhance WhatsApp’s message privacy options even more by allowing users to encrypt their message backups as well, providing their private WhatsApp interactions an extra layer of security. 

All WhatsApp chats are currently end-to-end encrypted by default, which has become a key value proposition for the program in light of growing worries about digital data trails and privacy. 

People can already back up their WhatsApp communication history using cloud-based services like Google Drive and iCloud, according to the business. These backups are secured by individual cloud-based storage services, and WhatsApp does not have access to them.
