Walmart subsidiary expands retail media network with retargeted ads

According to a press release from the company, Sam’s Club has made real-time, retargeted display advertising available across tens of thousands of websites on the open web through its retail media offering, Sam’s Club Member Access Platform (MAP).

The product aims to address a number of problems plaguing retail media and display advertising in general. To improve ad effectiveness and personalization, the Walmart subsidiary collaborated with The Trade Desk and LiveRamp. They did this by utilizing first-party member data, advertiser data, and behavioral insights powered by AI.

The functionality aims to provide more relevant ads and better customer service by utilizing real-time data from Sam’s Club members that isn’t available on other retail media platforms.
