Four companies have sued Facebook in the U.S Federal Court for anticompetitive conduct. As per the companies, the tech giant has inappropriately revoked developer access in the platform to affect prospective competitors. Facebook has not responded to this allegation yet. Yavar Bathaee, a co-lead counsel in the case, said to Reuters, “Facebook faced an existential threat from mobile apps, and while it could have responded by competing on the merits, it instead chose to use its might to intentionally eliminate its competition.”
Do Companies Trust the Cloud for Mission Critical Apps?
This case is an upswing of Facebook’s competition with other small application developers, which had made companies with access to its user data. Back in 2012, Facebook had cut data access for specific apps; however, it still allowing it for others.
