U.S. aims to ‘vigorously defend’ TikTok executive order despite

On 01.11.2020, the U.S Commerce Department made a statement that it will “vigorously defend” an executive order aiming to halt the TikTok transaction, even after the federal judge’s ruling.

On Friday, the U.S. District Judge Wendy Beetlestone barred the Commerce Department order, set to take effect on Nov. 12. It would have banned the ByteDance-owned TikTok to effectively operate in the United States.

Judge Beetlestone petitioned that the Chinese-owned company would not have been able to host data within the United States, content delivery services and other transactions.
