Twitters New Safety Mode to Protect Users from On-Platform Abuse

In its recent 2021 Analyst Day Presentation, Twitter said it is working on a new tool that will detect and block abusive content for users. With the new ‘safety mode’ option, the users will be able to automatically block and mute accounts that might be using insults, strong language, name-calling or hateful remarks.

This feature will limit the perpetrators’ ability to tweet for seven days and will show their replies to fewer people. Twitter will push a notification to the user’s phone to tell them when the tool is doing its job.
