Twitter will begin labeling tweets restricted for hateful speech

Twitter Inc. has announced that it will inform users when their tweet has been “shadowbanned” for violating the company’s Hateful Conduct policy. Twitter stated in a blog post that it wants Twitter 2.0 to be a safe platform without becoming a hive of censorship.

Since the company supports “Freedom of Speech” but not “Freedom of Reach,” some content will be harder to find, according to the company. Much has been said about free speech since Musk bought Twitter.

Under Musk’s direction, the so-called Twitter Files were made public, and it turned out that shadowbanning at the company had been much more common than previously believed. Musk has criticized that in response to claims that he is allowing hate speech to proliferate on the platform.
