Twitter announces its decision to launch its first African office in Ghana.
As web analytics firm StatCounter, Africa is an under-tapped terrain for technology firms, the internet use per population is at around 39% against the world average of 59%. However that number rises every year thanks to affordable phones and expanding mobile broadband networks.
Twitter said in a statement, “We must be more immersed in the rich and vibrant communities that drive the conversations taking place every day across the African continent.”
