Twitter is trailing on its new way to display images within the tweet timelines. This update would observe full images shown in the tweets, in contrast to previous cropped previews.
This will apply to single image tweets; however, the variable format could significantly modify how a Twitter feed is displayed. It would also take out the “open for a surprise” Twitter photo approach that has become a trend in itself over the time.
As explained by Twitter, “Now testing on Android and iOS: when you Tweet a single image, how the image appears in the Tweet composer is how it will look on the timeline – bigger and better.”
