Twitter Tests a New Closed Captioning Button for Video Clips-01

With the inclusion of a new ‘CC’ button on videos with captions, Twitter is making it easier to use closed captions in the app. The new button has a dual purpose: it allows viewers to turn on subtitles (where possible) while also informing them of which clips have captions accessible.

Over the last year, Twitter has worked to improve its accessibility features, including improvements to its alt-text description display including a comparable ‘ALT’ button on tweeted images with descriptions and auto captions on video clips.

The new CC button will be tested first on iOS before being rolled out to Android.
