According to the Financial Times, Twitter Inc. has shut down a Brussels office that oversaw its compliance with the EU’s disinformation code. Less than a month have passed since Elon Musk finished his USD 44 billion purchase of Twitter.

The Financial Times reports that some of the employees who left the closed Brussels office did so as a result of the layoffs that Twitter announced earlier this month. The company laid off about 3,800 workers, or about half of its workforce, during the round of layoffs. According to reports, a wave of employee departures from Twitter’s policy and safety groups coincides with the office’s closure.

The Wall Street Journal reports that numerous employees from the groups have recently left the company.
