With the introduction of a new partnership with Shopify, Twitter hopes to take a further step toward streamlined in-app commerce.
This partnership will allow Shopify merchants to list their products on their Twitter Professional Profiles, with each item, when clicked, directing users to the Shopify product page to complete the transaction. Initially exclusively available to a select few businesses, Twitter’s Professional Profiles are now accessible to all users. This option gives brands extra display options such as business category, opening hours, location information, etc.
Although they are not yet accessible, Twitter is working on product listings that will show “Shop” buttons in tweets.
