For a huge number of additional users, Twitter has increased its tweet recommendations. There is a tonne of potential for increased exposure here, and Twitter wants to keep users in the app for as long as possible in order to boost engagement, which these recommendations should ideally enable.

It is comparable to how Facebook and Instagram are now displaying more AI-based content recommendations, which come from TikTok and its emphasis on highlighting the most relevant content to each user, which is not directly related to the user’s own social graph.

The company tweeted, “Twitter is expanding recommendations to all users, including those who may not have seen them in the past, to ensure that everyone on Twitter sees the best content on the platform.”
