Twitter Aims to Improve its Recommendation Features

Recently, Twitter is found to be considering the Reddit-style system to rank tweets and replies. Some of the Twitter users got hyped when they observed an option to upvote and downvote tweets; however, this is not the scenario there.

As a part of this new, small-scale research experiment, the platform will use it to understand which replies users find most relevant during conversations. The downvotes will not be made public, while the upvotes will be shown as likes like before.

As explained by Twitter, “We’re hoping to better understand what people believe are relevant replies, and how that matches up to what Twitter suggests as most the relevant replies under a Tweet.”
