Twitter Acquires Squad App to Streamline Video Streaming Option

Twitter has recently announced that it has acquired the multi-participant video chat application, Squad. With this addition, the social media giant could pave the way for innovative video streaming options on the platform.

In fact, the Squad app saw increased usage of about 1100% amid the lockdown. If Twitter integrates and incorporates these functionalities correctly, it can bring more effective engagements – supporting broader discussion of its tweets.

This will also allow users to connect in real-time with the screen-sharing feature. Simply put, any participant can share their screen with Squad enabling discussion around content from different apps, messages, etc.
