Twitch CEO Emmett Shear to Step Down After Serving for 16 Years, President Clancy to Take New Charge

Amazon.com Inc.-owned (AMZN.O) Twitch’s Emmett Shear said on Thursday that he will resign from the role after serving for 16 years at the live video streaming platform he co-founded.

Twitch’s President, Dan Clancy, who has been in the company since 2019, will now be the next CEO but will remain an advisor. Emmett Shear co-founded the live-streaming platform Justin.tv. It became Twitch in 2011 and gained popularity in the gaming world.

Twitch has recently faced a tough time tightening the revenue the biggest broadcasters might have received from subscriptions.
