Microsoft Corporation has been in discussions with the US President to take over TikTok from the Chinese internet giant, ByteDance. With the ongoing plan of acquisition, the tech giant is committed to ensure complete security review and offer economic benefits to the US.
According to a recent CNBC report, the short-form video app is valued between $10 b to $30 billion. It stands to reason that it is most likely worth around half of Instagram’s price, which is valued at $100 billion. TikTok will face fire from the US administration if ByteDance does not sell it to Microsoft. There have already been several incriminations on the app for allegedly collecting data on the Americans and transferring it to the Chinese government.
