With the amount of AI-generated content on the rise, social networks are attempting to stay ahead of the curve while also riding it with their own generative AI features.
The most recent app to introduce new guidelines for AI disclosure is TikTok, which has informed users that they must tag content created by AI in the app in order to avoid having it removed by moderators. According to information posted by social media expert Matt Navarra, TikTok now explicitly asks users to tag AI-generated content that shows “realistic scenes”.
Although this is a somewhat ambiguous description, TikTok is essentially attempting to prevent the anticipated wave of AI deepfakes by strictly enforcing its related disclosure policies.
