TikTok Remains Unbanned in the US as Latest Deadline for its Forced Sale Passes

After a series of court challenges and judgments, the timeline for the TikTok sell-off has been extended a number of times. However, the recent, still standing deadline from the original Order stated that TikTok should be sold to a US company by December 4th, or it would be banned outright. But, there has been no update so far.

However, officials will reportedly allow the ongoing takeover discussions between TikTok’s parent company ByteDance and Oracle/Walmart group to continue. The negotiations may be on hold until the new President is sworn in, and if Joe Biden doesn’t see TikTok as a significant threat, the case may simply fade away.
