TikTok Makers, U.S. Democratic Lawmakers Oppose Prohibition on App

TikTok makers and three U.S. Democratic Party lawmakers said on Wednesday they opposed prohibition on the Chinese-owned video-sharing app upon hitting 150 million American users.

The prohibition statement came after lawmakers alleged TikTok CEO Chew Shou Zi of sharing U.S. data with the Chinese Government over national security concerns. The opposition to a potential ban drew attention to the benefits of TikTok on users’ lives.
