In response to concerns in Europe that the Chinese social media app TikTok might be spying for the Chinese Communist Party, TikTok has announced that it is introducing a new data security plan.
The action was taken shortly after the White House supported a new Senate bill that could mean the end of the app in the United States. The US has long claimed that TikTok poses a threat to national security.
Although TikTok has worked hard to make things right in the US, its continued presence in the nation is in jeopardy following the introduction of this most recent bill. It remains to be seen whether the plan for Europe modifies that.
