TikTok Introduces Video Warning Labels to Combat Misinformation

TikTok is looking forward to reducing the spread of misinformation with the addition of its new warning labels in clips. It is even taking a step further to notify viewers when it finds a video with unsubstantiated content.

The platform is removing misinformation identified in collaboration with fact-checkers tools like Lead Stories, PolitiFact, and SciVerify. This helps in assessing the accuracy of the content.

As explained by the company, “If fact checks confirm content to be false, we’ll remove the video from our platform. But sometimes fact checks are inconclusive, or content is not able to be confirmed, especially during unfolding events.”
