Threads unintentionally launched an option to filter search results chronologically

Threads

Earlier in the week, a new toggle appeared in the most recent version of the Threads app, allowing users to sort search results by “Latest” if they so desired.

This suggested that Threads had reconsidered its decision to allow users to search for topics in chronological order. A significant improvement in allowing users to monitor discussions and trends in real-time within the app would have been provided by allowing some users to choose to have their Threads search results displayed in chronological order of posting.

It didn’t last long, though, as Threads quickly removed the option and claimed that it had been accidentally released to a small group of users. “Earlier, an internal prototype was accidentally made available – this is not something we’re testing externally at this time,” the Threads team clarified.
